As a winner of numerous National Student Competitions of Music by National Taiwan Arts Center in the solo violin, piano, quartet, and quintet categories, and runner-up of Mandarin Daily National Competition of Music in violin, PoYu has made an appearance with the Voice of Spring symphony orchestra in Zhongli Arts Hall in Taiwan. In 2022, PoYu was a runner-up in the Concerto Competition of San Francisco Conservatory of music. Last summer, PoYu was fellow at Music Academy of West and had work closely with Takács Quartet, Glenn Dicterow, David Chen, Augustin Hadelich and composer Samuel Adam. As a passionate musician, PoYu has participated in many genres of music performances including performing with SF JAZZ, San Francisco Conservatory Baroque Ensemble and was concertmaster of New Music ensemble. PoYu participated in solo master classes given by violinist such as Arnold Steinhardt, Bill van der Sloot, Eyal Kless, Hilary Hann, Nathan Cole, and received chamber music coaching by Aizuri Quartet, Szymanowski String Quartet, Diotima String Quartet, and more. PoYu also regularly performed in school concerts since he has been professionally trained in music school starting at age 8. Po-Yu is a graduate of Colburn Music Academy where he received the Merit Scholarships given by Jean-Yves Thibaudet. Po-Yu is currently pursuing his Master of Music at San Francisco Conservatory of Music where he studies with Simon James and Cordula Merks. Poyu is currently sub musician at New World Symphony and Evergreen Symphony Orchestra.
